Challenge
Smart Homes Development envisioned a 300-unit apartment complex in DLF Phase 5 that would be one of Gurgaon's first fully IoT-enabled residential buildings — integrating smart home automation, energy-efficient HVAC, EV charging infrastructure, and premium finishes, all within a 24-month timeline and ₹180 crore budget.
Solution
We assembled a specialized team combining civil construction expertise with IoT and smart building system integration. The engineering phase included detailed coordination between structural, MEP, and smart systems teams to ensure conduit routing, power provisioning, and network infrastructure were built into the structure from foundation stage. Rooftop solar panels and a centralized STP plant were designed as integral building systems rather than afterthoughts, optimizing both performance and aesthetics.
Results
Completed 300 units in 24 months with all smart home systems operational at handover. The IoT-enabled features reduced per-unit energy consumption by 25% compared to conventional apartments in the area. The rooftop solar installation generates 200 kW, covering 30% of common area electricity needs. The 600-worker construction effort achieved zero major safety incidents, and the project was delivered within the ₹180 crore budget.
